Mike Povey

I have enjoyed many years in the Financial Services industry starting with Nationwide Building Society in the 70s. I have worked for a number of lenders and insurers since then, which has given me a comprehensive understanding of the way that these organisations work. This has helped me considerably in my role as mortgages and protection adviser at Tunstall.

The way I deal with people hasn’t really changed much over the years; essentially, I care about my clients and look after them as if they were my own family. I know this sounds like a cliché, but it really is how I feel.

Ken and I met 40 years ago when we were branch managers for different financial institutions in Skegness. We have a shared passion for client care as well as a lifelong love of Liverpool FC.

In my spare time I sing and play guitar. I also have an enthusiasm for musical theatre and have had the pleasure of performing at Lincoln Cathedral in Jesus Christ Superstar and Jekyll & Hyde; and in Evita at the New Theatre Royal. I’m also a passionate supporter of elephant conservation and have an ambition to travel to Thailand and volunteer at Boon Lott Elephant Sanctuary.
